This palette is available for $12 at elfcosmetics.com

Back in February Elf was having a free shipping offer and I have to admit their promo email sucked me in. I started browsing the site and found the newly released Chromatic palette. I immediately fell for the Bird of Paradise palette. It has the red and gold colours I love. I just had to have it.

I was also so intrigued by this palette's resemblance to the Smashbox Ablaze Palette. I partly got this palette to compare it to the Ablaze. I'll be doing a post on that soon! But first, let's get to know this palette.

This and the Elf Mad for Matte - Summer Breeze palette, which I reviewed recently, are my first Elf palettes. Like the Mad for Matte palette, I was pleasantly surprised that at how soft these shadows are! They are smooth and blendable. I would compare them to the quality of Urban Decay's shadows!

I am still so surprised a the pigment of Elf shadows. Elf products are such a low cost, I can't believe the quality of products. I only needed one swipe for all the colours except the light skin pigment shade. Which is due to the fact that I'm so damn pale.

These shadows didn't stain my arm. Which I really loved. With such a nice pigment, it is surprising it didn't stain. The shadow came off easily with soap and water but they didn't come off or smudge when they were just on my arm brushing against things. Which is nice. I suspect they will have nice where time on the eyes. Especially if you apply a primer first

I was very impressed with the colour payoff of these shadows! They are so soft and smooth and they blend and build so beautifully!

I love the colours! The maroonish shade is what first drew me to this palette. I love any berry makeup! I really like the terracotta shades. And I'm surprised how much I like the bright pinky-purple shade. It's really pretty! Esspecially in person!

I'm also a huge fan of the brush that comes with this palette. Previously to getting this order, I'd only owned brushes from Elf. I adore them! They are soft and very well made!

Was it worth the hype? Absolutely! I love the colour range and the shadows are soft, smooth and pigmented! I also really love the brush that comes with this palette!

Was it worth the price? 100% it was only $12 and I don't quite believe it actually.

These shadows are soft and smooth with great blendability and buildability. They are nicely pigmented and wear lovely. I 100% recommend this palette!

That's it for this review. Thanks so much for giving it a read! I hope you enjoyed it! Have you tried the e.l.f. Cosmetics Chromatic Eyeshadow Palette? What did you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
